Introduction of “Circle of Hope” Art Project with Kids – OKB

The “circle of Hope” will celebrate the power of connecting in difficult times! That will be An invitation to explore our feelings, and share hope to each other in distance. As we know kids are the ones who have difficulties understanding the situation. They have lived for the first time a large earthquake and they are living the pandemic area, who affected their happiness, education & socialisation. But is more than that, they have still questions, images, moments of nonsense, things that they have no word to speak and they need a language to talk about. How can we stand for it? Can we truly help them understand that they are not alone? Yes, we have to allow kids understand, that Outside of each home there are million kids who feel the same. There are hundreds of families that still haven’t talked to younger kids about that situation.

ONLINE TALKING

So, we will start from an online talking with kids & their parents:
How can we egange them to show their feelings?
How do we translate emotions?
What can we do to realease the bad memories?
All we have to do is By giving HOPE.
How can we show that, in the same time, but in different modes?

ONLINE PROJECT CREATION

Making that easly understandable for kids & parents, we will be ask to pick up four basic things.

  1. SHORT WOOD STICK
  2. COLORS
  3. YARN OR TWINE
  4. SMALL PIECE OF WHITE PAPER

That will be the stick of our emotions, we will start talking about the symbolism of that stick.
They will understand that each of them is important for their family, community & world.
Their words have the power of hope, change & connection.

So we will start painting our piece of wood, with the colors of our hearts.
We will continue decorating with yarns.
And at the end, with the white paper, we will write down our
emotion, hope, love & a word for the world.

Each of them, will create that small piece of artwork during our online talking.
We will inspire kids, about connection, love & peace to be shared with each other.

THE CIRCLE OF HOPE, INSTALLATION

The Finalization of the Project will be executed in a big Circle Installation,
Who will be decorated with yarn, as a “dream Catcher”
Who kids will be invited to put their magic making sticks in a duration of 2 or 3 days.
The Artwork will be installed outside, In a public space.
This allows every kid, to put their emotions on that circle.

We need to be connected and WE have the need to Educate our kids about that power!

The project will be created in two parts

1-online workshop ( at least 50 kids of ages 2-7 years old, with their parents)

2- the Circle of Hope Installation (Who invites children all over to put their decorated sticks)
